Tis the season and what better way to celebrate the Christmas season than by playing video slot machines. There have been many different Holiday themed slot machines, but today I’m going to talk about two of my favorite Christmas slots.
I played every Christmas themed slot machine available (I think) and two really stood out to me. My evaluation of slot games is an overall evaluation of the game itself not whether I won or lost money while playing it.
The runner-up is a game called Santa Surprise.
- When you begin playing Santa Surprise, right away you get into the Christmas spirit. It has a nice symbol selection and of course Santa is the Wild that can be substituted for almost all other symbols. I must say Santa must like me because he was coming up quite a bit to help me get some great payoffs. I must have been a good boy this year.
- Santa’s workshop is the scatter pay bonus. If you receive three or more of these symbols you are given 10 free spins. Each win during the free spin bonus is tripled (x3).
- I must say that the next feature is what really won me over and moved this game into my number two spot. If you receive three or more Christmas trees on an active pay line, you are brought to a second screen bonus round. This bonus screen is a huge Christmas tree with presents underneath that reminds you of Christmas morning as a child. You decide which three presents you would like to open and each reveals a nice payout.
- I am a big fan of the second screen bonus rounds and this was one of my favorites. This game included all of the features that slot players have come to expect and was enjoyable to play. I do have one complaint and that is the Christmas tree bonus must be on an active pay line. I am not a big fan of that because it entices people to play more and more pay lines with the expectation of hitting the bonus. You either hit the bonus or you don’t, but trying to manipulate people into spending more money on more pay lines is a bit devious in my mind. However, that is my only complaint and overall this was my second favorite Christmas themed slot machine.
Best Christmas Slot Machine: Deck The Halls
In my opinion, there was really no competition for first place. Deck the Halls was the hands down winner of my favorite slot machine game of this Christmas season.
- There is no comparison as far as the animations and graphics used for this game and all of the other Christmas games. Many times it feels like symbols are just kind of thrown on the screen haphazardly without much real thought. Each symbol in this game has a story to tell. I found myself staring at a symbol and recalling a Christmas memory. Combine the graphics with a nice Christmas carol playing in the background and you have a winner. Deck the Halls does an amazing job capturing the essence of the holiday season.
- The game itself has a max credit play of 300 coins, so be careful what denomination you play or how many lines you bet because this game can get real expensive real fast. The Deck the Halls Christmas wreath symbol is the Wild and it doubles all pays. Get this symbol all the way across the board and win a nice sum of 4000 coins.
- The bells are the scatter pay and receive three or more and you get 10 free spins. You don’t have to worry about getting them on the pay line, 3 or more bells anywhere on the screen and you will get 10 free spins. You can get 3 or more bells in the free spin bonus round so you are able to build up your total free spins.
I must say I enjoyed playing the Christmas themed slot machine games quite a bit. It helped put me in the holiday spirit. Not feeling the spirit of Christmas this year? Play a few of these slots and it will put you in a festive mood, especially if you win.
